Website review
For my website review I decided to look at leading online games and the way they promote the games and what kind of information they offer for the consumer. This review will be looking at the way the sites are set out, how fast it is to find information about the game they represent and what type of options they have to help you navigate their sites easier.
Game Title : Everquest 2

Everquest 2 site has a good visual layout with an easy to read navigation bar, but the community news column seems to stretch the page down too far. Looking for information about the game seems to be sufficient because it seems to try and sell you the game too much and feels too pushy. The site offers a list at the bottom of the page which gives a quick guide to pages available on the site.

The Guildwars site layout is easy to look at with a simple layout and visual content. Information about the game is simple to find and has a quick link to Guildwars Wikipedia. The sites navigation is straightforward to use as the majority of the sites links and pages are on the home page.

World of Warcraft’s site is very visual but the font seems to be too small in comparison to the size of the images throughout the page. Quick information about the game is simple to find, but with the endless comments on each category making the pages longer to load up which becomes annoying. Getting around the site can get quite confusing as I said before the visual images seem to take over every page.

The site offers a video when first entering the site which is very eye catching but seems to slow the sites loading time as for the rest the site seems to be a simple layout. Navigation around the site is good with quick language change but lacks any quick page links. Information about the game is there, but lacks a lot about what the game is like or what can be achieved in game.

Final fantasy XI sites layout is very basic and has simple visual content. Navigation around the site is in a drop down selection box and a left side column and doesn’t really offer much information about the game. The site seems not to be finished and could do with a lot of improvements compared to the rest of the leading game sites.
